Thank you so much to everyone who made it out to our Heather in the Kalahari fundraiser!

We had a full house with 40 people come and paint to support Heather's trip. Attendees had a good time painting their mugs, bowls, plates and other trinkets while listening to some authentic African music.

With your help we raised over $600 for Heathers trip to Shakawe, Botswana. We wish her luck on her upcoming endeavour as she goes to spend 8 months living and working in the Kalahari desert.

Heather hopes to make a difference in the lives of the indigenous San people through small business development, marketing and resources management. She is also very excited to immerse herself in the culture and maybe even learn a bit more Setswana (the local language)! Thanks again to everyone who came out last night!

Weekly Specials- July 20-26

Our specials at The Art Studios this week are perfect for the summer! What is better than garden gnomes to bring a little fun to your flower bed!

 Our third week of camp is coming to a close and boy did we have fun!

The kids had a great time experimenting with clay this week!
Campers learned how to properly handle clay, and lot's of different techniques. From kneading to shaping to painting their clay pieces, the kids got messy and had a ton of fun doing it!

We did a number of different projects including handprints, coasters and pinch pots!

They also worked on other great crafts and pottery painting throughout the week and even cooled off at the splash pad one day.

Heather in the Kalahari

One of our longtime employees Heather will be leaving us to go to Botswana in September.
She will be working with the indigenous people for 8 months in business development and resource management.

Join us this Saturday (July 21st) from 6-9 to say goodbye and support her trip!
We will be having refreshments, pottery painting, and African music!
Admission is $20 and includes the studio time and the piece.

Weekly Specials: July 13th-19th

Like Clockwork!

We have wrapped up our first week of the Amazing Art Camp here at The Art Studios, and are well into the first day of our second session for the summer. All the campers from our first session had an incredible time! They each went home with a box full of painted pottery and crafts. All the crafts were geared towards the theme of the first week: Art in the Park. In keeping with the theme, the campers made pet rocks and aliens, painted zebras, sketched outdoors, and made puppet animals!

Here are a couple photos of our campers assembling their own clocks. Each camper cut out and painted clay pieces, as well as a dinner plate, to make the pieces for their clocks. At the very bottom, you see the kids showing off their artwork!
